Green Choice Refuse & Recycling is part of Mike McMaken’s plan to become a “full circle green” contractor allowing him to work hand in hand with his custom home building business McMaken Carpentry. This is good news for the community; it allows people to recycle economically.
Green Choice will pick up home and construction salvage, barn wood, large amounts of stone or masonry for reclamation and reuse. Pick up is available for Northern Michigan and all of the Upper Peninsula.
Green Choice has several closed top containers for sorting recyclable materials like glass, cardboard, metal, and several types of plastics. Home and construction refuse is also accepted at this facility. Dumpster services are available. We, unfortunately, are unable to offer curbside pick up for residential weekly refuse service.
Green Choice accepts yard debris too. A large wood chipper will make wood chips from yard debris and clean construction lumber. The chips will be available for purchase. All other yard debris will be composted.
